Kakatiyas
The dynasty that unified Telugu land — from Rashtrakuta feudatories to sovereign emperors of Orugallu. Builders of Ramappa & Thousand Pillar temples, patrons of Palkuriki Somanatha and Tikkana.
Post-Kakatiya Dynasties
The Musunuri Nayakas, Reddis of Kondavidu & Rajahmundry, and the Recherla Velamas — the Hindu revival between the fall of Warangal (1323) and the rise of Vijayanagara.
Vijayanagara Empire
The last great Hindu empire of the south — Sangama, Saluva, Tuluva & Aravidu dynasties. Krishnadevaraya's golden age, the Ashtadiggajas, and the fall at Talikota (1565).
Qutb Shahis
Founders of Hyderabad and Golconda's diamond age — 169 years of Persianate rule, patrons of Dakhani Urdu & Telugu, builders of the Charminar.
Asaf Jahis (Nizams)
The Nizams of Hyderabad — 224 years of princely rule (1724–1948). Salar Jung's reforms, Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway, Osmania University, Operation Polo & the merger into India.
